What is Texas ProStart?
Texas ProStart isn't just about preparing students for careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry—it's about igniting a passion for culinary arts and hospitality management that will fuel their futures. Through rigorous academic and workplace experiences, our students don't just learn—they excel.
It's no secret that everything is bigger and better in Texas, and our high school hospitality education is no exception. The Texas Restaurant Foundation has taken the national ProStart program and given it a Lone Star twist, boasting:
Outstanding Curriculum: Engaging, challenging, and designed to inspire.
Educator Excellence & Professional Development: Equipping teachers with the tools they need to lead and succeed.
Industry Support & State-of-the-Art Facilities: Connecting students with the best in the business and the latest technology.
Student Achievement: Celebrating success at every step.
Each year, we elevate high school culinary and restaurant management education to new heights, with the unwavering support of the Texas restaurant industry. Over 250 high schools and more than 27,000 students statewide are involved, and the numbers keep growing!
The synergy between industry and education ensures that our teachers and students have access to extensive resources, paving the way for their success. The pinnacle of their hard work and dedication is showcased at the annual Texas ProStart Invitational, where teams from across the state come together to demonstrate their incredible talent and passion for the industry.
