Focused on the education and development of Texas’ restaurant industry workforce

Born out of the financial crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the TX Restaurant Relief Fund’s mission is to provide immediate financial relief to Texas’ independent restaurateurs with funds designed to save employee jobs. During the pandemic, the relief fund raised and distributed more than $3.5 million to support over 800 independent restaurants and their employees.

Today, the TX Restaurant Relief Fund continues to serve its mission by raising and distributing aid when disaster strikes the restaurant community in Texas or beyond. By uniting as one restaurant community under the Restaurants Respond© banner, we can combine the spirit of hospitality with the strength of Texans to help our neighbors in need.

The TX Restaurant Relief Fund and Restaurants Respond© are initiatives of the Texas Restaurant Foundation—a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on the education and development of Texas’ restaurant industry workforce. All donations are tax-deductible in keeping with applicable laws, regulations and IRS rules.

Dear Texas restaurant community:

Like you, we’ve watched with shock and horror as communities in the Panhandle are devastated by wildfires.

Our hearts go out to every person impacted, and we want our friends in the Panhandle to know that we are here for them today, and we will be there with them as they figure out how to move forward.

We know many restaurants are struggling right here in Texas due to the difficult economy. But we also know that many Texans—including restaurant operators, employees, and customers—want to help and don’t necessarily know how to best contribute. So, we’re activating Restaurants Respond® with three suggestions to make it easy for anyone in our community to help as they are able.

  1. You can give online here - If you are looking to financially contribute, please consider a tax-deductible donation to the TX Restaurant Relief Fund.

  2. Here are some additional vetted charities supporting relief efforts (Be wary of sham and fraudulent groups):

  3. Amplify our joint impact by sharing our posts on your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Thank you in advance for helping in any way that you are able. And please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or feedback.

Everything is bigger in Texas, including the generosity of our restaurant community.

Best,

Emily & the TRA Team

Donate to Those in Need

Funds received will help keep independently owned restaurants open and their workers employed. As restaurants await relief from the government through available aid packages and navigate the application process for possible U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Economic Injury disaster loans, they are fighting for their survival. We need to get money into their hands today to support as many of Texas’ independently owned restaurants as possible.
