Texas Restaurant Association to induct Jerry Walker into 2026 Hall of Honor
Dallas hospitality leader recognized for decades of industry advocacy, education and service to Texas restaurants
AUSTIN, TX (June 22, 2026) - The Texas Restaurant Association will induct Dallas restaurant champion, Jerry Walker, into its 2026 Hall of Honor, the Association's highest recognition for lifetime contributions to the Texas restaurant industry and the organization.
Walker's career reflects more than three decades of leadership, advocacy, education and service to the Texas restaurant industry. A former president of the TRA, he has held numerous leadership positions throughout the organization, including treasurer, second vice president, chairman of the Texas Restaurant Foundation and chairman of its Political Action Committee.
Throughout his service to the Association, Walker has helped strengthen the restaurant industry's legislative voice while advancing workforce development and educational initiatives that have benefited restaurant professionals and students across Texas.
"Jerry's impact on the Texas restaurant industry can be seen in the countless people and programs he has helped shape over the years," Emily Williams Knight, Ed.D., president and CEO of the Texas Restaurant Association, said. "From advocacy and leadership to education and mentorship, he has dedicated his career to advancing opportunities for others and strengthening our industry for future generations. We are proud to recognize his extraordinary contributions through the Hall of Honor."
Walker's influence extends far beyond the state level. As president of the Greater Dallas Chapter of the TRA, he expanded membership engagement and became a tireless champion for Texas ProStart, helping introduce young people to careers in hospitality and foodservice.
His professional career includes founding Conference Hospitality Group, managing hospitality operations for prominent Dallas institutions and serving as an award-winning adjunct culinary instructor. Through each role, Walker has remained committed to developing talent, sharing knowledge and elevating industry standards.
"Jerry embodies the spirit of servant leadership that the Hall of Honor was created to recognize," Tony Abruscato, chief marketing officer of the Texas Restaurant Association, said. "Whether advocating for restaurants, mentoring students or leading industry organizations, he has consistently invested his time and expertise in helping others succeed. His legacy will continue to be felt throughout Texas hospitality for years to come."
The Hall of Honor recognizes industry leaders nominated by their peers for their lasting contributions to Texas restaurants and the association. Inductees must have at least 15 years of Texas Restaurant Association membership, demonstrate superior business ethics and show a sustained commitment to advancing the industry and supporting fellow members.
Walker will be formally recognized during the Texas Restaurant Awards on Sunday, July 12, at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio. The ceremony is held in conjunction with the Texas Restaurant Show, presented by Eat Local. Eat Often.
