Local Lubbock Designers Serve Up Foodie Fashions at Inaugural Food in Fashion: Lubbock Edition

Local designers and restaurants join together to raise money for Texas Restaurant Foundation programs.


Lubbock, TX (February 15, 2023) –
The Lubbock Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association will present the 2023 FOOD IN FASHION: LUBBOCK EDITION event, March 5, 2023 at The Funky Door, 6801 Milwaukee Ave. Models will be adorned in fashions created by Apparel Design and Manufacturing students from Texas Tech University, College of Human Services. The one-of-a-kind designs will consist of a collection of food products and restaurant supplies from participating Lubbock restaurants.   

Following in the footsteps of the very successful Food In Fashion Dallas, now in its 6th year, Food in Fashion: Lubbock Edition is sure to become a local must-see event. The fashion designs will dazzle visitors with creative uses of restaurant supplies and food while attendees enjoy tasty bites and drinks. 

Food in Fashion is a fun-filled night that benefits the career education mission of the Texas Restaurant Foundation a non-profit organization dedicated to building and maintaining a strong professional foodservice workforce in Texas. Texas ProStart culinary students from Lubbock Cooper will be attending, helping with the event.

Established in 1994 by the Texas Restaurant Association, the Texas Restaurant Foundation (TRF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to building and maintaining a strong professional foodservice workforce in Texas. Leveraging the latest skills, tools, and certifications, the TRF creates pathways of opportunity for one of the state’s largest and most diverse industries. ABOUT THE TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY APPAREL DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING PROGRAM 
Texas Tech University's accredited Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design and Manufacturing provides students with a smooth transition into the fashion industry. Students enjoy extensive one-on-one attention from faculty, receiving strong guidance and mentorship. The curriculum teaches how to construct industry-standard garments, not just drawings. Students gain a detailed understanding of the entire design and manufacturing process, from initial drawings to finished products.
