Texas Restaurant Economics is a member benefit designed to empower foodservice businesses, policymakers, and the public with more timely, local data on our industry. While many data sources exist for the foodservice industry, it’s rare to find state-level data that doesn’t take years to compile. The TRA is filling this gap, utilizing our diverse network of restaurant operators in every corner of the state.

How does it work?
Once a month, the TRA sends a quick survey on economic and business conditions to a diverse group of restaurateurs across the state. The TRA then analyzes the responses and creates a monthly report.

What data is analyzed?
Every Texas Restaurant Economics report will address key themes including food costs, labor costs, staffing levels, and customer traffic. In addition, the monthly reports contain a qualitative analysis we call “Emily’s Take.” TRA’s President and CEO Emily Williams Knight, Ed.D., uses this section to share her insights on the macro trends and external factors that may impact the Texas foodservice industry moving forward.
