Many people enjoy beer with barbeque, a Bordeaux with their steak or margaritas with fajitas. However, when ordering restaurant delivery - alcohol has been missing from that experience.
Currently, Texas law permits beer and wine to be carried off the premises of a beer and wine permittee, but the same authority does not extend to a mixed beverage permittee.
With the growth of third party delivery, TRA is supporting soon to be filed legislation that will allow restaurants with a mixed beverage permit the ability to deliver, or have delivered by a third party, alcoholic beverages from the permitted premises directly to the consumer.
