The Texas Restaurant Association has launched two new websites, one for the association, www.txrestaurant.org, and one for the TRA Marketplace, TRA’s annual trade show, the largest foodservice show in the Southwest, www.tramarketplace.com. The new sites, which are fully responsive, feature updated designs, reorganized structure and interactive features, making it easier for both members and the general public to navigate.
The redesign was led by TradeMark Media, a local, full-service digital agency. Mobile responsiveness is the most significant new change as well as a fully searchable interface. Other new features include a bold new typeface and use of a third-party app, Juicer, on the Marketplace site, to better display all of TRA’s social media content.
“Our membership is large and very diverse. The new websites are more robust, and organized in a way that is easier to navigate, locate and share resources. It meets the needs of our members, and also helps us better serve our partners, vendors, and industry organizations as well as the general public,” says Richie Jackson, CEO of TRA. “These new sites also help us continue to create a strong sense of community, something for which we are always striving.”
One significant improvement came with the massive database of research on legislative, operational and regulatory issues housed online. TRA has decades’ worth of content to share, but prior to the new sites, it was not being indexed by search engines like Google and Bing. The new site changes that — and TRA expects to see increasing traffic as their vast resources and industry insights increasingly appear in more search results.
TRA also offers digital advertising on their sites and now, with total back-end control, the association can showcase better quality, mobile-friendly ads.
Homepage content will continue to reflect breaking news and legislative updates of interest to the industry. The TRA site also maintains its Education Foundation page, upcoming events, and links to its 22 individual chapter pages.
