Taking culinary arts has opened many opportunities for my future. There are a lot of benefits to knowing how to prepare food. Not only will the knowledge that I have learned in this Texas ProStart class benefit my health, but it will also help me make money wherever I decide to go in the future. So far this year I have learned a lot, but I want to learn so much more! Culinary arts for me has been very inspiring and I plan to continue into the advanced class next year, hopefully. Even though I'm a beginner, culinary has already changed my life. I have gotten a ton of life changing advice, that has helped me get my first job. Culinary arts is a universal trade, meaning that if I'm successful I can move anywhere I wish to go and be able to find a job. My future seems so much brighter since I've started culinary arts. No longer do I have to worry about not knowing what I want to be when I grow up, or how I am going to make money when I'm on my own. Cooking has always been very important to my family. When I was younger I remember always being so amazed with the food my mom would make, It was like art, or magic. Now that I'm older I have to do a lot of the cooking. At first I felt like I was a natural chef, but now I see that I was just an amateur. I don't want to be an amateur, I want to be a successful chef! My goal is to not only be a chef, but to also provide healthy for both family and customers. Another goal of mine is to keep me, and my family healthy, I believe I can achieve this through culinary arts, by controlling what we consume. My family has a history of blood clots, diabetes, varicose veins and other health problems that could be prevented through eating right. Prolonging my living family's lives is very important to me. I can't control what I inherit but I can control how it effects me, and my family, by simply cooking them their meals. Making home cooked meals is not only more healthy but it is also so much cheaper. More and more people depend on fast food and restaurants for their meals. Culinary arts is a wonderful opportunity for anybody, because knowing how to cook is essential all around the world. Taking culinary arts is probably one of the best decisions I have made in high school. It has helped me set the stage for my future, and inspired me to pursue a career in culinary arts.
