Texas Mourns the Loss of Chef, Travel Host & Author, Anthony Bourdain

2018

Anthony “Tony” Bourdain has died, and we mourn with the rest of the food world over the loss of his wit, curiosity, and perspective.

Bourdain was often the avatar for our own adventurous selves, and since Kitchen Confidential hit shelves in 2000, we have delighted over his words and experiences, and his ability to unpack cuisine as more than just food. He traveled the world, but some of our favorite moments from his time on television were when he visited the Lone Star State, commenting on everything from our diversity, our bbq, and our politics.

We remember Bourdain with hearts full of gratitude, and a hope that we can live as adventurously as he did – tasting everything life has to offer.

The National Suicide Prevention Hotline can be reached at 1-800-273-8255 and offers 24 hour access to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.
