Conroe Competitors Advance to State Finals

Feb 24
2015

Texas ProStart teams traveled to the Houston area from as far as Amarillo to compete for glory at the second regional Texas ProStart Invitational competition on February 20 & 21. Parents, bffs, grandparents, instructors, siblings and fellow competitors cheered for teams on the culinary floor and in the audience at management presentations.  In the student lounge, students joked that they weren't good at sports but they had developed skills they could use for the rest of their lives.

Former Texas ProStart students volunteered and shared with current students how the program launched them into their culinary careers. At the end of the day, the top six culinary teams and top six management teams were announced. Those 12 teams advance to the Texas ProStart Invitational state finals in Waco March 27-28 to compete with the top teams from the Hurst regional competition (January 23-24). The top culinary and top management team from state will compete against their peers from around the country at the National ProStart Invitational in April.
